A recognized leader in corporate law, George Hagerty advises companies, private equity firms, and investment banks on transformational events and capital raising activities. His law practice spans all aspects of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and finance.
In addition to his transactional work, George has served as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to several companies on legal risks and compliance. His many years of work in New York, London, and the Rocky Mountain West have given him a global perspective on diverse dealmaking scenarios in more than a dozen different national jurisdictions. He also has experience counseling public companies on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and reporting and has advised numerous issuers and investment banks in domestic and international private placements and public offerings of debt and equity.

- Counsel to a NYSE-listed natural resources company on three SEC-registered exchange offers with a combined value of over $410 million
- Counsel to a NYSE-listed natural resources company on several equity public offerings and Rule 144A debt offerings
- Counsel to a consortium of private equity funds on its approximately $735m acquisition of an inland waterway transportation company
- Lead representation of underwriters of a €2.9 billion initial public offering of a European internet and telecommunications services provider, the largest IPO in the sector in Europe at its time
