Amy C. Collins is a white collar and criminal defense attorney who holds the position Of Counsel with Kalbian Hagerty LLP. Amy largely focuses her practice on federal white collar, national security, and cybersecurity matters.
Because of her extensive work in national security matters, Amy is well-versed and practiced in transnational and international law and U.S. sanctions laws and regulations, even in the civil context. Her practice has allowed her to work in a variety of practice areas and to represent parties in various high-profile, complex matters of national and international importance.
Although a litigator at heart, Amy has notable experience in regulatory and administrative matters, including advising clients in relation to congressional testimony and investigations and vetting cases under the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (“CFIUS”) legislation, regulations, and executive order.
Amy also has a passion for policy and legislative work. Accordingly, Amy has informally assisted a member of Congress with drafting federal legislation relating to domestic terrorism and has published several substantive works, including one paper which was selected to be archived with the U.S. Library of Congress.
Amy’s approach is largely informed by her work in the federal government. Prior to her work as a white collar and criminal defense attorney, Amy served as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section (“MLARS”), where she led, coordinated, and otherwise supported a number of complex and high-profile federal cases and investigations. Amy’s ability to excel as a federal prosecutor stemmed, in part, from her prior experience in the federal government, working at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and various offices within the U.S. Department of Justice.
Amy has practiced in a variety of jurisdictions across the nation. Her successful litigation practice has resulted in her being selected to the National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 in Criminal Defense for 2023 and as a 2024 Super Lawyers Rising Star.
