Hassan Mansouri is an associate in the Abu Dhabi office of Kalbian Hagerty. Hassan specializes in handling litigation in U.A.E. local courts as well as through alternative dispute resolution. He also has experience with corporate and contract matters involving U.A.E. based companies, businesses, and operations and assisting individuals and families with their various legal needs.
Hassan has handled multiple civil, commercial, labor, and criminal litigation matters on behalf of a diverse set of clients ranging from large multi-national companies to individuals. Hassan successfully obtained the dismissal of a commercial claim involving a partnership dispute between a prominent international school and its local partner. He also recently won a criminal case involving the violation of the intellectual property rights of an international company.
In addition, Hassan obtained an injunction order against a multi-national company to seize its license, properties and bank accounts, which eventually led to a favorable settlement and acquisition of the multi-national company. He has also handled numerous alternative dispute resolution matters including a recent mediation in a rental and tax dispute.
As part of his litigation practice, Hassan has been involved in the process of debt collection and enforcement of judgements on behalf of international companies. He is particularly adept in drafting and executing demand letters and handling execution procedures of seizing bank accounts and other property belonging to non-compliant parties.
Hassan’s specialized experience with U.A.E. local courts and practices has also helped him advise multi-national clients on avoiding potential disputes arising out of contracts and transactions as well as addressing issues relevant to U.A.E. law. Recently, he played a major role in advising a bank on its duties and obligations on the complex issue of liquidating performance bonds in the context of one of the largest infrastructure projects in the U.A.E. Hassan has also provided advice to clients on U.A.E. laws and practices involving credit ratings and reporting requirements.
Hassan’s practice also includes general corporate matters including company incorporation and establishment in both the U.A.E. onshore jurisdictions as well as the many free zones that have been established in the U.A.E. He is knowledgeable in drafting and filing memorandums of association, obtaining licenses and permits from government authorities, and handling the sale and transfer of company shares.
Finally, Hassan also represents individuals and families and has handled multiple family law cases based on U.A.E. law and Sharia principles.
