Spencer O’Dwyer joined Kalbian Hagerty as an attorney in 2016, working primarily as a member of the firm’s civil litigation practice group representing clients at the state and federal level, as well as in private arbitrations and mediations.
As part of his work in the firm’s civil litigation practice group, Spencer has assisted clients involved in commercial disputes, specifically in actions for breach of contract and fiduciary duty, fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation, as well as cases for employment discrimination before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Spencer also assists clients who have suffered from personal injuries due to the negligent acts of others. Finally, Spencer has experience successfully arbitrating before a FINRA Dispute Resolution panel.
As part of his work in corporate and transactional matters, Spencer regularly drafts a variety of contractual agreements, including shareholders’ agreements and note purchase agreements, and consistently provides concise legal opinions on a variety of issues identified by individual and organizational clients. Spencer has also played a role in the recovery of funds due under government contracts.
During law school, Spencer obtained a Certificate in Transnational Legal Studies from the Center for Transnational Legal Studies in London. The intensive course included law students from over 10 different nations and focused on international comparative legal analysis and cross-border legal issues in the context of a broad diversity of legal cultures.
