Chloe McDougal is a member of Kalbian Hagerty’s taxation and corporate practice groups.
She focuses her practice on tax and corporate matters, including international tax planning and compliance, corporate governance, and general corporate transactional matters. Chloe has a reputation for presenting clients with clear explanations of complex tax issues, strategic judgment and practical solutions.
As a member of the taxation practice group, Chloe assists clients in matters relating to U.S. tax obligations including tax planning, IRS audits and investigations, and compliance issues relating to the reporting of foreign bank accounts and assets. Chloe has advised clients on the IRS Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program and streamline submissions. She has also advised foreign investors on structuring U.S. investments in tax efficient ways.
As a member of the corporate practice group, Chloe assists clients on a variety of business matters including, entity formation, contract drafting, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities law compliance, and equity and debt financing.
While in law school, Chloe served as a Lead Articles Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review. She was also a student representative in the Washington and Lee School of Law Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic representing taxpayers before the IRS with their federal tax controversies and she participated in Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), assisting low-income tax payers in preparing their tax returns.
Additionally, Chloe was a judicial extern for the Honorable William G. Petty of the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
